[[Luk 18:28]] KJV Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

Your followership is of no spiritual benefit if Jesus isn't your gaze. Followership requires death to self in order to live for the Master's pleasure.

There's a call to separation and consecration as people of light. But firstly in our walk with God, we have been called to follow. Following entails copying or replicating thus, we are not called to be originals in ourselves, but originals after the pattern of Christ.Β

The Apostle Peter, after Jesus' meeting with the rich young ruler was alarmed and sought to find out the reward of them that had left all for Jesus' sake. The word of God records Jesus' response as giving them the certainty of their reward here on earth and in that which is to come as scripture says [[Heb 6:10]] KJV For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

People Of God, the art of following requires that our gaze and minds are fixed on the leader. Peter's reference wasn't to men who were lackadaisically in Jesus' company but rather them that had forsaken everything "fleshy" for the advancement of God's kingdom.Β

Emphasis✍;

No man can serve two masters and as such when you decide to serve God, serve with an unrepentant addiction to His instructions consistent with his word.Β
