I know this is a frequently asked question. It is a subject that must be addressed and addressed thoroughly. We serve a God of righteousness, and He desires that every man be righteous in His eyes. The glory of our walk with God is not only the name bestowed upon us, but also the authority bestowed upon us to overcome the world and be called Sons and Daughters of God because we are born of God.

In this regard, there are numerous arguments and questions raised by the Bible itself.

These are some of the questions most both believers and unbelievers do ask;

1. Can a believer sin ?

2. Will God give a believer second chance when he sins ?

3. What happens to a believer when he sin?

4. Can the sins of a believer be forgiven by the Lord?

In this article, I have thrown more light to this questions and shown what the bible tells us.

Before you go any further, I want you to understand what sin is.

There are three types of sin: sin, transgressions, and iniquity.

These are the three types of sins mentioned in the Bible, and they all have different meaning but all leadsd to one thing which is end product of sin .

We can see from David's prayers that sin comes in different varieties, as David mentioned three types of sin.

Psalms 32:5

[5]I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

The Greek word for sin is "Khata," which means "missing the mark."

There is a standard for us to live by, and that is the standard of righteousness, but when we fail to meet those standards, we fall short of the mark that God has set for us.

Now, sin can be against God or against man, and it can be willfully or unintentionally committed, so God told the Israelites that if they comite an unintentional sin, they should sacrifice a female goat.

Most of the time, we know that we do or say things that are contrary to God's word, which is why, in Jesus' teachings on prayer, He taught us to ask for forgiveness of sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Anyone who sins on purpose and on a regular basis has not yet circumstanced the heart, transformed the mind, or changed the heart because the Holy Spirit, who is the seal of our righteousness, has not yet  come to stay in the person.

Numbers 15:27-28

[27]And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

[28]And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

So, that's why if you continually sin intentionally, you are not yet the son of God or child of God and your sins are not yet forgiven untill you realize your unrighteous and come before the Lord Jesus Christ in humility to accept him as your Lord and personal savior.

Anyone who sins is empty and falls short of the glory of the Lord.

The Greek word for transgression is paràvasi.

This refers to a lawbreaker, law broker, or offender.

Another kind of sin is transgression; it is a sin that offends both God and man. This kind of sin, known as willful sin, is committed intentionally.

We frequently fall into this trap, which is why Jesus taught us to ask for forgiveness for our own transgressions just as we should do the same for others. Sometimes we say things even though we know they are lies because we are afraid of the consequences.

Eve and Adam are an example. Adam and Eve were aware that God had previously warned them that they would die if they ate from the tree in the middle of the garden, but they disobeyed Him because they were aware.

Hosea 6:7

[7]But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

They were aware of the covenant and God's words, but they chose to violate it, and as a result, they are now in violation. You become a transgressor the moment you are aware that what you are doing is wrong and do it knowingly.

James 2:11

[11]For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Samson is another man; he knew he was a Nazarite and that the day he shaved his hair, he would no longer be a Nazarite, but he still revealed to the woman his secret, which he ought to have kept to himself. He did that on purpose, which cost him his glory for the same reason.

The bible also declares a willful sin as a sin.

1 John 3:4

[4]Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Transgression therefore equates to sin in this instance. However, if you accidentally do it, you will be forgiven.

The Greek word for injustice is anoma.

Iniquity, which is defined as lawlessness, is a deeper-rooted sin that involves deliberate actions without sincere repentance. This is unethical behavior, a mindset, and a heart.

If we were to apply sin to the world of computers, we would claim that while sin and transgressions are the person's attitude's front end, iniquity is also from the back end and causes the person to act willfully without having a contrite heart.

 Matthew 12:34

[34]O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Jesus used vipers because they are the incarnation of the devil, who is their father, because sin is planned, it becomes a regular part of a person's life, and the person then becomes immoral.

Micah 2:1

[1]Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

Coming back to our main topic, we have shed more light on it so that we may understand what sin truly is. We now know that there are two types of sin: willful and unwilful. The bible teaches us that a person who sins unintentionally will be pardoned, but a person who plans or transgresses without ignorance will be held accountable.

Hebrews 10:26

[26]For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Things That Happens To Christian When He Sins.

These are the things what happens when we sin as Christians;

1. The Holy Spirit get grieved

We attest that whenever we consciously sin, our spirits are quite sour or very unpleasant. The Holy Spirit, who controls our soul and flesh, is extremely unhappy when our consciousness is still alive and we have not yet sunk into apostasy. If the sin is not ongoing or if it is not directed at the body, He might not go at some point.

Ephesians 4:30

[30]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

You must now be aware of every kind of sin a Christian can commit and the consequences that follow.

Although all sins are equal, the Bible helps us understand the effects that willful and unwillful sin, as well as ongoing sin, have on us.

2. The Ministry of The Holy Spirit Ceases.

Easy-to-Read Version 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Don’t stop the work of the Holy Spirit.

In both our ministry and our relationship with God, the Holy Spirit is a crucial component. We cannot become children of God without the Holy Spirit since the Bible states that all who are led by the Spirit are God's children. Without the Holy Spirit, we have no connection to God.

Remember that it is Jesus Christ, not the Holy Spirit, who bears the weight of our sins; as such, the Holy Spirit cannot remain while you continue to or purposefully become corrupted by sin. This is what ends or quenches the power of the Holy Spirit in our ministry or life as Christians. He will go like a mist, leaving you alone.

 3. Our Fellowship With God Get Hindered

1 John 1:3,6

[3]That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

[6]If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Your blessings and connection with God can be cut short by sin. You can no longer readily approach the realms of God, you can no longer even touch tremendous dimensions in the Lord, and our walk with the Lord may not become effective both in our ministry and in our everyday Christian life.

5. Looses Hope And Confidence In Christ's Second Coming.

Easy-to-Read Version Titus 2:13 We should live like that while we are waiting for the coming of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He is our great hope, and he will come with glory.

4. Prayers Cannot Be Answered Until Confession

Easy-to-Read Version Psalm 66:17-18 I cried out to him for help, and I praised him. If I had been hiding sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened to me.

 6. Loose Confidence In Prayers

Easy-to-Read Version 1 John 3:19-23 That’s how we know we belong to the way of truth. And when our hearts make us feel guilty, we can still have peace before God, because God is greater than our hearts. He knows everything. My dear friends, if we don’t feel that we are doing wrong, we can be without fear when we come to God. And God gives us what we ask for. We receive it because we obey God’s commands and do what pleases him. This is what God commands: that we believe in his Son Jesus Christ, and that we love each other as he commanded.

The more willingly you sin, the more likely it is that you have lost the Holy Spirit within you. Perhaps you have reached the point where nothing of the Lord has struck your heart to live according to the status of the Lord. Jesus is willing to save you, and He still wants you to come to Him, since His words state that any sin can be forgiven, but only the sin against the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:34

[34]Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Come to Jesus, He is willing to forgive you, even if men may judge you or you may condemn yourself numerous times thinking that your sin is too great for God to forgive. The Bible teaches that we confess with our lips unto righteousness.

If you confess your sin to the Lord, He will forgive you.

Easy-to-Read Version Ezekiel 36:25-29 Then I will sprinkle pure water on you and make you pure. I will wash away all your filth, the filth from those nasty idols, and I will make you pure. I will also put a new spirit in you to change your way of thinking. I will take out the heart of stone from your body and give you a tender, human heart. I will put my Spirit inside you and change you so that you will obey my laws. You will carefully obey my commands. Then you will live in the land that I gave to your ancestors. You will be my people, and I will be your God. Also, I will save you and keep you from becoming unclean. I will command the grain to grow. I will not bring a famine against you.
