What Is The Wisdom Of God?

Divine Wisdom - Part One

The wisdom from above is God's wisdom given to men.

The Greek word for wisdom is Sophia, and the word for above or divine is Theikos, but the two words combined are pronounced Theia Sofia, which means divine wisdom.

Proverbs 2:6

[6]For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

There are two kinds of wisdom: earthly wisdom and heavenly wisdom (Wisdom of God).

The wisdom of men is a fleshy wisdom that is not of God, but the wisdom from above is of God and is a spirit.

James 3:14-17

[14]But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

[15]This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

[16]For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

[17]But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

God considers this world's wisdom to be foolish and evil. He sees that men's wisdom causes confusion and does not bring men peace.

Sure, we see many people who rely on their own wisdom, strength, and knowledge and have rejected God's word, so they are working against themselves.

Romans 1:22-32, 1Corinthians 1:20-21

Wisdom from above is both a gift and a spirit. We seek it from the Lord, and He gives it to those who seek it as precious substance.

Exodus 28:3; Exodus 31:3; Isaiah 11:2;

1 Corinthians 12:8

[8]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

So, if you ask for it, He the Lord will give it to you free of charge.

James 1:5

[5 ]If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

When God asked Solomon what he wanted Him the Lord to give him, he only asked for Wisdom.

As a result, the Lord granted it to him. It greatly aided him in his kingship; he is the man who has been able to rule a kingdom on earth with great wisdom from above, which increased his wealth, made him famous, and made him the most sound-minded human leader on the planet.

1 Kings 4:29-30

[29]And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

[30]And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

The wisdom of people from the east is a great kind of wisdom; with their wisdom, they can discern with ease, calculate, and build things with ease, just like the Egyptians, who have been thought to be the first civilized people throughout history, but the wisdom God gave unto Solomon supersedes that of them.

Those shepherds who read the stars to find out who and where Jesus Christ was born are from the east, Job is from the east, and the wisdom God gave Solomon surpasses all of them.

The wisdom that God gives is far superior to the wisdom of this world.
